2016 and 2017 any major differences?
« on: February 10, 2017, 07:10:38 PM »
I'm picking up a new 16 tomorrow.  Are there any differences between the 16 and 17 models aside from the color and the handlebar bushings?

How did BMW get the extra 5HP? Engineering or software?

both
Probably some adjustments to the mix and mainly changes on the exhaust system, playing with the back pressure etc.

I'm off to the VIP test ride (yep I know a month later then most but at least I have a fair chance of nicer weather) next Saturday at Pidcock BMW Long Eaton, Nottingham anyway testing the 2017 XR along side the R NineT Scrambler for a laugh may have a go on the C Evolution as well be interesting day out.
After over thirty years behind the bars, I’ve still not done it all or seen it all.

Picked up my new 2017 XR this week - seems almost identical to my 2015 XR.

Vibrations now minimal, engine slightly smoother
