Front mudguard painted now
« on: February 17, 2017, 10:30:50 PM »
Well it's finished now used the remaining paint from the panniers to paint the front mudguard the same colour. Quite happy with the result.

Really like it creates a nice smooth vacuum with non of the nasty turbulence I had with the original.

Like the painted mudguard. Did you get it painted by the same guy who did your panniers? I painted the front guard and hugger on my S1000r with rattle cans. Turned out really well and looked great on the black bike. Dealer says the guard off the red rr fits so I'm going to weigh up cost of painting vs new guard.

Interestingly, the frozen blue 2017 bike has a body coloured front mudguard. I wonder why the other colours don't have painted mudguards.

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I think the frozen blue is horrible. The light grey of the new S1000r isn't much better either. I'd be surprised if the blue is a good seller. The S1000r wasn't and was dropped after a year. Must sell well somewhere I suppose. Just IMHO of course all :004:

Thanks
Yeah same guy painted both, it's a pal of mine, he paints new HGVs for a living does some really nice work. He coats plastic with some sort of primer / sealer first then several coats of paint. The panniers had 3 coats of laquer as well not sure about the mudguard but I would assume the same. Got the proper BMW Racing Red half a litre £22.00 so its an exact match to the bike I'm very pleased with the result.

Hi - can you tell me what the code is for Racing Red please. I'm thinking of going front mudguard and belly pan sides. Thanks
