Demo Day
« on: March 09, 2017, 06:53:19 PM »
My mate and i took a couple of new bikes out from DL over to the Steel Horse cafe today. A new K1600GT and R1200RT. Both fabulous bikes and the noise from the K is worth the £21500 alone, well, nearly. Strangely we both preferred the RT at the end of the test ride, so much so that my made ordered one. I was still more than happy to jump back on my XR at the end of the day though that K is a beast.

The XR is so much fun and zippy.

My GF said it's too young for me so maybe I should look at the RT lol

Well, i'm 50 and my friend who has an XR is 51 so don;t let age be a factor, having a bit of fun keeps you feeling young.

I've got a K1600GT as well as the XR, so the best of both worlds  :002:

Before deciding on my XR I was really considering the RT. It is quite agile despite its looks, very comfy and practical it has all, very complete bike.
At the end went for the XR for that bit of sportiveness, so I would not miss my S1000R much. I did well.

I've rode the RT's for a while on and off and think they're a very capable bike, do all but just doesn't have the acceleration and flick ability of the XR or for me, fun factor, a mate has GT too, huge thing which ain't for me but a great tourer and bobs along with us no problem.
The new RT looks great, looking forward to seeing one in the flesh.

LOL I'm 50 until my leg gets the other side of the seat then I'm like a 21 year old.

One of the buttons has a recycled teenager setting doesn't it?
After over thirty years behind the bars, I’ve still not done it all or seen it all.

53 this year. I sold my RnineT and then traded in my RT for the XR. Probably my last bonkers bike before returning to an RT.  :001:

Most of these modern bikes are so capable with the assists that I think our years of riding bonkers bikes will extend!
