HP Seat
« on: March 10, 2017, 01:37:35 AM »
I've been reading a lot about the HP seat and many are saying it's more comfortable than the stock but the description from BMW only says the HP high seat has more padding for comfort...it seems maybe the standard height may have the same amount of padding as the stock. Is the HP standard height seat substantially different than the stock seat?

My bike has had the standard height HP seat from new, but I have ridden two other XRs with the stock seat.

The HP seat is more comfortable, for sure.  Feels a bit softer.

Thanks...picked up my bike today and it didn't take me long to figure out the stocker is not going to work for me long distance.

Had my first ride with the HP seat today, about 200km, and it's definitely better, even though I found the stock seat much better than expected. I still have the problem of 'slipping' forward so I'm up against the tank rather that the seat hump. Anyone know where I can get longer arms  :187:

I have the low version of the non-HP seats. Have done some 200 km trips no resting and it has been ok with me. Not carrying any backpack so that might also help. I reckon I can do some longer but will nevertheless check the HP slim one to see how tall it gets to seat.

HP seat is great - much more comfortable than original and looks a lot better to - but not cheap
