Picked up my S1000XR last week.  Running in service tomorrow. Whatever happened to a free first service??

Welcome to the "Nut House"...! :400: Which colour did you get..??

A free first service is something to be "haggled" for at purchase time.....but the dealers often jack up the initial price to suit.. :151: So you "think" you're getting a good deal... :138:
Either way...the bike is certainly worth the cost of the first service...Mine goes in for it's first service next week too..! Weather hasn't been too kind here of late so not much riding has been done.

Well pleased with mine...It's quickly becoming the best bike I've ever owned, (even with well less than 1000km on it so far)...and I've had a couple :001:

Cheers,
Smithy.

It's my first BMW. Really enjoying riding it. Grin factor or what!

The "no remote" alarm is driving me crazy. Too many bikes in a single garage means a whole palarva of disarming the bl**dy thing. I'm getting a K1600 remote programmed for it as well tomorrow.

Did you get the bike from Lind Chris?

The free first service went a long time ago, and  BMW are not alone in having got rid of it.

Yes, the bike was supplied by Lind.

A friend told me that Yamaha charge almost as much as BMW for the first service.

I like the riding position, the performance is addictive, the handling is better than I expected for this type of bike and the gear assist pro is a hoot!
I thought the low gearing might be a problem (my ZZR1400 was doing 105 mph at 6000rpm), but it hasn't been. I can ride it relaxed in 6th like a twist and go, or have the instant response like a sports bike.

On the downside, I've not found anything really. Cleaning it is a bit of pain as it's difficult to access some bits.
