New Helmet !
« on: April 11, 2017, 04:39:22 PM »
Thought I would treat myself to a new lid and having always fancied a Simpson took the plunge and bought a Venom

At the price compared to Arai etc it is very good, very light and sets very comfy

and it does look cool as F**K and on a white XR ........
You tell me how fast I was going Officer !

After over thirty years behind the bars, I’ve still not done it all or seen it all.

So they are meet the ECE R22/05 standards now? I remember the ones of old which didn't have the BSI approval.

They look very light and the specification looks good too, including a drop down sun visor. Price looks good too, a bit of searching showed them coming up at £250.

Yep all ECE approved etc it is very light probably about half a pound lighter than my Arai.

Just helmets have them at the price you indicate and I have to say are very very good in the customer service dept

The helmet was with me on Tuesday having ordered it on sunday night with the promise that if it didn't fit or i didn't like it a door step exchange or return would be the next day again.

The dark visor was extra as is the pinlock but the visors are not expensive at £45

The diversity and styling of motorcycle helmets on your side of the pond is enviable.

I suspect that whatever safety standards are required in North America limit profitability for some seriously great designs like this.

Maybe it's time that old Low-Brau hopped a plane across the Atlantic and spent a week helmet shopping.

Simpson’s originated in the States not over here hence why they have a Snell rating and no other helmet in Europe does.
