12 Months Old.
« on: May 12, 2017, 09:49:10 PM »
Well, 12 months has arrived, new insurance policy, Bennetts in at £370, AA via highway in at £220, perks of Bennetts ain't worth the money so going with AA.

Service just flashed up on the dash saying 'May Service', so 12 month/6000, my bikes about to clock 4000. Rang Bowker in Preston who quoted £196, got it to £175 without the air filter which they said I didn't really need, also said brake fluid will cover for 24 months so must be naff they first put in then...??

Going have the red dingle dongle plugged in too

yep my insurance is up as well after 12 months eBike £300 ish Carl Nash insurance £875 Bennetts £450 not sure what Carl Nash is doing wrong but at more then twice the cost I'll not be going to them.

On the service front; I think there is a yearly or every 6000 miles service, I guess you did the 350 ~600 miles service yourself?
After over thirty years behind the bars, I’ve still not done it all or seen it all.

Some variations of insurance there pal !?

Bowker did my first service at just shy of 600 miles so I could go to the 2016 TT, i just didn't bother going back for just having the dongle plugged in, tickles along nicely but interested in how the dongle changes things..

Well 12 months service done and 175 earth pounds lighter.
Had a chat with the service chap about the vibs through the bars etc..

Told me the recall parts can be on order if I want to have the modifications, parts are ordered against each chassis number, he did mention the new 2017 model has a different part number for the handle bars and thinks they have made the bar heavier hence a new part number.

On his opinion he reckons the vib is lower down on the bike and we just feel it through the bars.. ?

Yeah, i told Carole Nash to do one after they doubled my renewal. I went with Bennetts who were over £200 cheaper. I re-approached Carol Nash , who then knocked £20 off their original quote and ssked "how does that sound".
"CRAP, Goodbye" was my reply :152:

My mate has an XR and lives 10 miles away, Bennetts come at him for 180, never even made an offer to reassess my quote when I rang to cancel the direct debit mandate.
