Screen lip/deflector
« on: May 14, 2017, 09:38:21 AM »
I'm 6'2, and whilst I don't need or want a taller screen, now we're getting into warmer temps here in the UK I find the xr the worst bike I've ever had for bugs/insects direct to the visor.  Is anyone tall using a lip type of deflector like the wunderlich for example, or the mra xcreen, and has it made a difference to the insects issue?

I'm 6'2" (but 30" inseam so tall up top) and I'm using the MRA Xcreen (touring) mounted on a Vstream medium shield and it work great, even at the lowest position. Very few bugs and nice clean air bubble. Since it's adjustable both in angle and height, it's easy to find a setting that works. Previously I had the MRA screen for the SXR but it was a little too short and the spoiler was only adjustable up and down and didn't pivot so I never could find the right position.

Thanks but that doesn't really help as you're using an aftermarket main screen.

Using it on the stock screen isn't going to be high enough for you.
