New Member from California
« on: May 17, 2017, 11:26:01 PM »
Just purchased a left over 2016 from a dealer in Las Vegas Nevada a couple weeks ago. A 2 day ride back through Death Valley staying off freeways as much as possible back to the San Francisco Bay Area to break it in.  Couldn't have asked for a better way to get acquainted with a new bike, especially coming off of a well ridden, tired 2000 Buell M2.

My route

Here it is.  Just entering Death Valley from Las Vegas. Brand New

It now has OEM Crash Bars, Dieci83 Radiator Guards, NavVI, and an old Givi Box :)

Being new to the bmw nav in general, and never had or played with one before, I don't think I would be qualified to compare as I haven't used a Nav V.  That being said.  The screen is easily visible in daylight a shortcoming of the V i have read.  I know it now has media streaming from the phone, however I have my sena 10c streaming from the phone not through the nav.  Still playing with it experimenting how to best configure it along with my phone and headset to get the most out of the unit.

Beltin' run home that.  I have also been around there on a Goldwing.  Did you go up Dante'sView and look down on Death Valley.  That was spectacular to me as you can get the whole valley in one vista.  For us Limeys its looking at a valley that stretches from Manchester to Birmingham all in one view - truly immense.  Mind you the Goldwing has plusses when you have to get over to the US East Coast, particularly in the Gluteus Maximus region.  That XR throttle would definitely get some lash on those Nevada back roads.  Gave mine a bit of a push today, it's nice to see that dashboard light come on in second gear.  :028:
