Gear shift light
« on: May 18, 2017, 04:54:56 PM »

Anyone jiggered with the gear shift light setting, mines lights up at 7000, I went into the settings and it jumped straight to 13500, ideally I'd like to set it higher but not that high...?

It's explained pretty well in the manual (I don't have it with me so can't replicate here) but you can set it at various levels between 7,000 and 13,500 - just keep pressing the button to select what value you want it set at. You can also adjust the flash rate and light intensity - more settings than you knew you ever needed  :001:

OK here's the process to adjust the Gear Shift light:

Ignition on
Press Info several times to get to setup menu
Press and hold Info to enter the menus
Press and hold Info to enter the Equipment menu
Press Info to get to GSL-ON RPM
Press and hold Info - the current setting flashes
Press Info to decrease or Trip to increase (you can set it to any of 7000 8000 9000 9500 10000 10500 11000) though it has to be less than the "off" setting (obviously!)
When at the value you want press and hold Info
Press Info again to set the GSL-OFF setting - follow the same process as above
Press Trip to get back to the top menu with Exit showing - long press on Info to Exit

You can set flash brightness, frequency, automatic daytime running light etc etc in a similar way.

Hope this helps!

I find the shift light incredibly annoying. The first time I rode the bike it freaked me out, I thought something was wrong until I realized what it was. :008: I have it set to the lowest brightness and highest RPM.  I don't really need a shift nanny.  :038:
