STUNNING EXHAUST REPLACEMENT!!
« on: May 18, 2017, 06:36:42 PM »
Having searched as many as ten UK & European makers of after-market silencers to replace the (IMHO) awful looking OEM, few made one for the XR.   I came close to having the Cobra Ultrashort, then my son found BOS in the Netherlands.   They make (also IMHO) the prettiest replacement I've seen yet.   Short enough.   Conical.  Carbon finish.   Beautiful link pipe.   Sporty tail-piece.  When hot, burbles nicely on down-shift with an occasional pop.  Sounds a little louder and a little deeper.   And it is half the weight of the monster it replaces!!   No accounting for taste, but it sure presses my buttons!!

Had a BOS on my S1000R. Liked it a lot. IMO yours looks good. Congrats but, NO SOUND clip?

Hi ampJ8 - I have a sound video but not sure how to get it down to upload able size?  Will investigate and come back.

Hi JBG - bag is a Triumph rear pannier which I re-badged, located a pre-drilled plate (actually stiff board) on the inside base and screwed to the four points on the rear pannier bracket.   Fits securely and is perfect for carrying camera and other bits & bobs on day trips - it's also expandable.  Gets a few compliments too.

Not sure I would go so far as "stunning" but looks nice!  :821:

Also, nice job on the rear bag

Each to their own as they say, I'd like to see an Austin racing end can, seen some crackers on other S1000's.

JRE & Gatsoburner - of course, it's all about the "eye of the beholder"!!   I've seen some seriously nice cans, including Austin Racing, even the Ackra can on the new S1000R is a peach, but very few makers do a can for the XR.   So the BOS was a compromise but I think it's length and dia suit the shape and style of the XR.  As you say, "each to....."!
