Another Newbie...
« on: July 18, 2017, 11:41:56 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I've been looking at this site for a while and thought it was about time I joined up.

I've been an XR owner for about 5 months and I'm still loving it. I spend way to much on it but what else are bikes for!

Thanks. It's the Puig touring screen, it's much taller than stock and I find that I rarely have to put it in the high position as it does what I need at the height it's at.

...Just as well really as it's looks awful in the high position.

Welcome!

I went for an MRA Screen, with aerofoil on top - hadn't done many miles on the BMW screen, but the MRA seems to be pretty effective extended or retracted.

Thanks Red, Puig, thought it was, I had one on my Turismo, really well made, kept that on the low setting too, I'd like a tinted one and the BMW one is too expensive IMHO,

In case people are interested I thought I'd make a list of mods and accessories that my bike has had since new. Some where by me and some were by the previous owner...

Puig Touring Screen (light smoke)
Nav 5 with Cradle lock
Wunderlich bar risers
Scottoiler
Akrapovic exhaust
R&G grip tank pads (only lowers put on)
HP high seat
Wunderlich extended hugger
Front mudguard extender (no idea of brand)
Evotech rear peg eliminator
Evotech Bar end weights
R&G crash bungs
Evotech Radiator Guards
Touratech brake pad covers (previous owner brought these... not sure what purpose they have!)
Rim tape (they make it go faster so I assume it counts as a mod?)
Phillips Extreme bulb upgrade
LED side light bulbs (much better looking as it now has the same white as the daytime running light)
BMW panniers but with Givi Trekker top box (already owned the Givi)
Held day tank bag
Oh and I've just had Roadtec 01 tyres put on... love them so far!

Wow there's more there than I realised... I'm not going to add that all up! :087:
