LED driving light.

I am unsure if this has been covered before but I have a question regarding the earlier (2015) bikes in the UK.
I appreciate these bikes did not have the front LED driving light fitted but can they be retro fitted and are BMW UK obliged to do this as a no-cost option?
Thank you,
Colin.

Don't know if they can be retro fitted but the No-Cost option might be a problem LOL.

The reason I ask is that I met a fellow XR rider today on a 15 plate bike and he told me that he had the light retro fitted (free of charge) by BMW UK at the end of 2016.
I was simply wondering if anyone else had any knowledge of this on 2015 bikes.

My bike was registered July 2015 and came with the LED DRL from new.
Not sure I can speculate on why this chap had one retrofitted for free.

Maybe DRL price was fitting included.
I think it's a minimum of one hour labor to fit the light.
So it's up to the dealer then.

In above link you can check costs, must say that in Euro's it will be a lot less.
Still a big amount of money for a LED light.

Go into BM UK bike side and look at spec your own bike and go to Configure you will see it's an optional extra that if you order from new it's £290 just as everything else is an extra as it is possible to buy an XR with absolutely nothing on it bar engine and wheels!!!.
Hence why if you look at enough XR's the spec varies widely.

IIRC the first batch of UK SE Sport XR's (spec included the DRL on the SE) were shipped without the DRL and they were then retrofitted FOC at the first service. When I ordered mine from AJ there were several new bikes in the showroom without DRL's. Mine was delivered about 3 months later and DRL was fitted. If you bought the Sport SE then the DRL was definitely in the spec.
Talk to the dealer.

Hello guys and thanks for all the pointers.
The bike is a 2015 Sport SE. I have called the Stealer and they are having none of it. Off to call BMW UK and see what they have to say about it.
