Hi From Auckland New Zealand

Big Hello to everyone and intro to myself. Just bought a 2015 S1000XR in white and picked it up Saturday (only 2000km on the clock so happy man right now). Came from owning a G650GS Sertao but wanted something more refined, larger motor and to get away from the big single cylinder. I ride mainly on the black stuff even though we have plenty of gravel roads over here so the Sertao was a bit overkill in terms of off road capability, however I wanted something that could do the gravel if needed. I looked at the Ducati MTS950 and 1200 but didn't like the ride. This surprised me as I had my heart set on the MTS950. I then went across the road to the BMW dealer and he had the XR in. Gave that a run which left a huge grin on my face. Well the rest is history so they say. Really pleased as the bike has all the OE's. Looking forward to reading all your stories, advice etc on the forum and hopefully contributing myself.

:046:  :152: Yeah I'm up on the Shore (Browns Bay) and been out here 10 years now. Must admit still loving it out here and the riding weather "typically" is good.

Small world isn't it?  My sister lives in Torbay and my brother in law has a caravan import business in Browns Bay.  We've visited a couple of times and the weather has always been spot on for bike riding  :152:
Not sure about an XR and a 100 kph speed limit though :084:

Definitely a small world and I have to agree the 100km/hr limit is something I have to be careful of. So easy to be well beyond that and not even realise it. Bit wet at the moment but we'll get into good riding season very soon.
