Akrapovic Header - Advice?
« on: August 20, 2017, 08:37:08 PM »
Hi all

I'm sure this has been asked before:

Is it straight forward to do yourself?
What special tools are needed?
Can it be done on a centre stand?
Time taken to do it?
Is there a guide? :440:

Go to the Akra website there's a 'How too' on there but ideally the rad and oil cooler need moving to avoid damage and no you can't do it on a center stand.

I installed my Akrapovic Headers although it did take some time ( and effort).  You really must move the radiator and getting to the head bolts on the top center 2 cylinders is a PITA, it can be done.  I did do mine on the Center stand but you need some assistance to get the Cat clear.

I used the stock can ( would love to have a Akra CF can but they are just too much money!!!!).

Cheers,   D

Thanks TX sailor.

Do you have to drain the radiator?

Some pictures would be really useful - thanks.

I  did not drain the radiator.   Just disconnect the bottom brace and the top yo allow it to move forward.    I will post the pictures (after I remember where I stored them.).
