Front indicator came out
« on: September 05, 2017, 09:25:17 PM »
Hi Guys

I took delivery last week of my new baby, and I'm loving it. I will post a report in a month or so.

I've got an issue, when i was putting her away tonight, i caught the front indicator on my car's wheel arch (I'm So pissed off). The whole fitting came off, its hanging by the wire. I have tried to unscrew the bolt, but it just turns. Do I have to take off the whole panel to get the light back on, or is there an easier way?

Thanks for any help

Zunk

It's not a captive nut, so you need a small spanner on the inside.

If you are a gynaecologist- that would help. :015:

Thanks for that, but I can't see the back of the panel even with a mirror

Yes--there's a nut behind the mounting point. According to the repair manual, you're supposed to remove the fairing, unplug the wire, remove the screw (holding the nut) and then twist the base of the signal 90 degrees to remove the whole light assembly. It sounds like you pulled the shaft from the base--is there a way to glue/snap the two back together again? Otherwise, you'll probably need a new indicator

Also, note that there is a "hidden" screw on the side painted fairing--towards the back of the fairing you "gently" pull out the plastic and you'll see the screw under there.
