Anyone have Geico insurance. State farm just dumped me: W-T-F?!?!
« on: September 09, 2017, 12:53:38 AM »
State farm just informed me they will not renew my policy when it expires in the month. So I have to shop around for new insurance. Geico was the only company that did not quote something astronomical. I have heard they sometimes take your money then come back with a more expensive rate afterwards. This concerns me.
Curious if any of you in the US use them. Also it's a little weird that this happened a couple of days after the disaster in texas. I remember something weird happened after Obamacare went into effect. Strange they reassessed my risk profile at this point in time.

Hey Snatch. I've had Geico for the past eleven years. They stick to the quote. As long as I have the bike, the rate stays the same. I had a 2015 Versys 1000 before the XR. When I changed to the XR, my rate only went up $22.00 a year for the same coverage and a lot more bike.

Thanks for the feedback OT. THey told me over the phone they build in the rate to be high fro the start so they don't have to raise it and other brokers told me they adjust it after they quote.
The other brokers are probably exaggerating.
Have you had any incidents/tickets since being with them?

None at all, on four or two wheels, in decades.

I also had State Farm in the 90s, but they dropped me because they decided to stop dropping motorcycles entirely.

I switched to Progressive, and although I'd never had to make a claim, I felt their pricing was more than fair as I switched from standards to sport bikes to touring bikes.

When my XR went down, the company - and the local claims adjuster were absolutely fantastic.  I could not have been more pleased with their service.  They got my XR running and even advocated on my behalf.  My total out of pocket expense to fix $7,000 of parts on the XR was... $0.

I will never switch to another insurer.

wound up going with Geico.  They had the best prices and coverage.  State farm HAD the best prices but that's why they drop motorcycles so easily I think.  They also do not cover injury outside of your home state, which is complete garbage, and don't cover towing or roadside assistance, both of which Geico does.  I was pretty impressed by Geico's customer service as well.

Good to hear.  Plus, their commercials make me laugh.

They'll likely never drop you, either.

gotta give them props for the commercials. Progressive does pretty good with "Flo" too.

It seems Geico and Progressive are the only insurers that sort of specialize and cater to motorcycles.

I used to think the Progressive commercials were entertaining till I realized they all made motorcycle people look stupid.
Not a fan....
If you smile when the light goes on in the garage, you made the right choice.
The first motorcycle race happened right after the second one was made.
