Flex bars for those with vibration issues..!

Whilst looking through a post from another chap, I stumbled upon these..I wonder if they would help with the vibration issues most of us XR owners suffer:

    https://www.fasstco.com/collections/motorcycle/products/flexx-handlebar

Also wonder if they can be "retrofitted" and take all the XR's controls etc...?? They are expensive though..! :012:

    Cheers,
    Smithy.

I contacted them and they were very helpful and willing to help out. They are designed for offroad use where large impacts and lots of vibration is found. I am wary of possibly too much flex on the XR... but they provide a variety of damper stiffnesses to adjust the level of flex.

They should fit on the XR no problem using the adapters.

Transmission of vibration is a curious thing.

With this handlebar, there is still a mechanical connection between the triple clamp and your hands so vibration would still came through.
You would need to insulate the hinge as well in order to black the path of transmission.

This type of system would be great for oscillations of large amplitude/low frequency in a vertical direction.
The vibes in an XR are the exact opposite - small amplitude/high frequency in an unknown direction.

I think we need to find the source of the problem rather than mask the symptoms.... maybe I should do some BMW specialist training?  :084:

Funny enough I was putting a LOT of time into a perfect solution to the vibration issue. Characterizing its frequency, amplitude, and direction with a tri-axial accelerometer, and designing a tuned mass damper.

But then I passed 3000 miles and don't even think about the vibes anymore  :152:  :305:
