New EU regs from 1st Jan 2017.

Hope you got a good deal on the bike at this time of year?   You would think there were bargains to be had?

I bought mine Nov 2016 with delivery Feb 2017 - as it was the season to be jolly/thrifty.  :047:

Maybe a few days' riding left?

Have fun!

Aye, got a good enough deal that I was happy with.

I'll be looking to get the first 600 ish miles on it in the next couple of weeks and get that first service done before the Winter sets in proper.

Cheers

Dave

Nice colour - Saw one in the dealer, looks even better in the flesh

Just have to make do with a red one one until next year  :021:

Couple of very early gripes.

The only guy I have watched on youtube that has a BMW Nav is the Missidenflyer but he rides a GS and not an XR.

What I never realised is that the Nav 6 on the XR doesn't show Ambient temp or Tyre Pressure. I didn't think there would be any differences tbh. I've not had time to check 100% but I don't think it shows Elevation either. All these things are really handy for touring but it looks like I'm doing without.

The other thing that I didn't know you couldn't do is adjust the Gear peg. I usually have to drop them about an inch but it cant be done on this.

Apparently you get aftermarket ones you can fit that have adjustment but this seems silly that it doesn't do it with the stock one.

As I said though.... little gripes and I'll get over it lol.

Love the bike though. Really enjoying it.

Thanks Dave

Artful, I also came from a GS via an RS and both of these had all the stats and measurements. I knew about the ambient temperature being missing on the XR but was surprised to find it didn't have TPMS. A couple of odd omissions on a bike that is north of 15K full price. I suspect that it boils down to the lineage of the electronics coming from the S1000RR where having a lap timer is more important than knowing if it's bloody cold or you have a flat tyre.
