Saying hello from Stamford in the UK
« on: November 01, 2017, 02:54:46 PM »
Good afternoon everyone.  Just a quick introduction, I've only had my XR a couple of weeks having previously ridden a 08 Speed Triple 1050 for the last 7 years, unfortunately arthritic knees meant I was struggling to get my right foot comfortably on the foot peg on the Speed Triple.  I've now got a '15 XR Sport in white.
Thought I'd need a GS or Tiger when my local BTW dealer suggested the XR.  I'm loving it.  Haven't things moved on in the last 7 years?  Quick shifter, cruise, ABS, heated grips, but most  of all I'm really enjoying the fantastic grunty engine.  Been out again today and now done just over 1k miles in two weeks.
Hoping for dry roads for another couple of weeks.....   :152:

Welcome!  I envy that white color on the 'XR.

I test rode the white, but ended up with the red.  Regardless of color, I too find the ergos of the 'XR to be absolutely stunning.

Hello from Lincoln. Did they mention the red ones are faster?  :001:

Thanks for the welcome guys :152:

I'm pleased to say that the weather in these parts is still allowing my pals and me to get out on the odd days and get a few miles in.  My use of the bike is just scratching around my well worn local B road routes, for which it is perfectly suited.
