Hi guys. Just made the hop back to BMW from GTR1400. Didn't need the full blown tourer any more and the XR is a fun all rounder. Couldn't be happier........ but it had to be red

Hello JayJay and welcome to the forum. I agree, the XR is the most fun bike I have ever owned.
Enjoy and let us know how you are getting on.

Ah yes.. 'The York' , my local. 5 minutes walk from there and actually live inside the circuit. Always a great week

We love Harry’s Shack on the beach dread to think what it is like during the winter.
Always enjoy coming up from Dublin via Armargh/Cookstown.

Welcome to the board.
I too ride the
red
, and find it to be the kind of color that forces me to strap a stick to my saddle so that I can beat the women back as they swoon in my direction most days.
It's just not safe.
The riders on the white ones don't seem to have this problem, I hear. I will forward an official inquiry to BMW engineers to firm up if the red-attractive function was by design.

I have to say, Low-Brau, that I know exactly what you mean. Now that I have reached an age when SWMBO reckons that I should know better ( the next time I see 56 will be on someone's front door) I find that I appear to have bought a bike that seems to be trying to make me misbehave!!
Ah well..I had always planned to grow old disgracefully.
Glad that someone is taking this problem up with BMW R&D

I received this today:
Hallo, Herr Low-Brau!
We sank you vor your inquiry as to ze rot kolor of ze S-Ein-Tousand-X-ERR.
It hass been proven zat Rot vill attrakt zo many females, zat ve had to abruptly svitch to a vite kolor instead. Ve originially chose Rot bekause it vas zo much VASTER zan any ozer kolor. Ze ladies vas an unkalkulated oversight. Ve apologize to ze riders who hav Rot ones, as zey are too exhausted from ze ladies to out-race ze ozer kolors now.
If you ver lucky enuff to purchase a Rot S-Ein-Tousand-X-ERR, you vill be notably vaster zan most ozer motorcycklen. Also, you vill be zehr popular at ze Bier Halle.
Deine,
Herr BMW
