« on: November 24, 2017, 01:56:45 PM »
I have had my xr since the beginning of Aug and have had two punctures in 2500 miles so i have opted to use bike seal product.

I have never heard of it.

Based on your streak of bad luck, though, you seem to be the perfect rider to test it out!  :001:

But seriously, what type of surfaces are you riding on? Perhaps that needs to be address first. Are you riding through construction zones?

A few posts on here have been regarding tyres and punctures. On one of my previous bikes, a Harley (yes I know, but I'm now an XR convert) I had 4 punctures in in as many months, all in the rear on Battlax tyres. I had seen a very impressive live demonstration at an IAM club night of Bikeseal and decided that I'd had enough and would try it. I've not had any punctures since, that I know of, but how would I know, Bikeseal would have stepped in and fixed them ! This is NOT the old stuff that tyre fitters hate, it doesn't rot anything or leave a sticky residue, it's water based and inert. Apparently used by police and other emergency services. It's also a permanent fix. I have no financial interest in this product so am just passing this on in case any members are interested. There's a good demo video of the stuff in use on their website http://bikeseal.co.uk/ You can buy the stuff and do it yourself, personally I have it done at a local garage, Frasers of Gloucester, they do it for under 50 quid for both tyres. No more puncture repair kits or pumps to carry, peace of mind for me with regard to safety and time saved. The guy who runs the company is very helpful should you need support or after sales advice.
