Glad to have you here!  The XR will not disappoint.  It's... good gravy.  It's just... well... dangerous.   :028:

Welcome. I LIKE THAT BLUE (it suits/ compliments the XR). There's a few here that have gone from the R12GS to the XR.  Compared to the previously opposed twin BMW's I've owned, "GS included, which I never used off-road" the XR is superior in every way (I wish the XR had a shaft drive but in the same breath glad it doesn't). Also, I've found that the XR "can be" ridden casually (ya just need to ignore its wonderful in-line 4 wanting/ beckoning to use its power, which is very addictive, fun and useful)

I have a 2016 BMW S1000XR that I purchased this fall. I now believe this is the most incredible motorcycle I have ever owned. I started riding at 11 yrs old. I have an extensive off road riding experience. I have raced 250, open (CR500) and Senior classes in motocross. I currently ride a KTM 300XC off road, a Suzuki DRZ400SM when I'm feeling ornery on pavement and of course my BMW S1000XR when I have the wife along, want to smoke my boys (they both have street bikes) or am feeling like just taking off.
