hi just joined this forum after buying my 16 plate xr. have had sports bikes since passing my test in 86 including zxr`s and many gixxers including my last four bikes being gsxr1000s. never thought i`d own a bmw and certainly not before i was 50
but fancied a change and took the xr on a test and well its now in my garage. looking forward to many entertaining miles both here and abroad.oh and got my first ever speeding ticket on my second ride out

Bad luck on the speeding ticket, as the copper said to me when I told him it was my 1st: "no sir it needs to be your last"

and it seems this bike has now passed to me via Completelymotorbikes in Cheltenham
I have 3 points on my licence that expire on 19th Sept. Place bets on me having a clean licence on 20th Sept...

Welcome
Interesting how some people still possibly have perceptions of BMW's being for 'older people' only. Of course they now have a comprehensive range to suit all styles from beginners onward and arguably the most sophisticated sports bike of all in the RR
