Fork Spring Compressor?
« on: January 14, 2018, 06:36:47 PM »
Hi Guys,
Has anybody found a fork spring compressor that will work with the left side dynamic fork? All of the tools I've found use the spring spacer above the spring which normally has two holes in it to engage the tool. The XR right side is this way so no problem but the left side doesn't use a spacer so the tool needs an adapter to engage with the spring which is what the OE tool does. I can probably make something but I was hoping there might already be something on the market. Each time I've had it apart I've used brute strength to pull the spring down enough to wedge an open end wrench in but I'm not looking forward to doing it that way again if I can help it. There is a guy on eBay selling a tool for $130 which would work if I can come up with a solution for holding the spring. Any ideas?
