Dreaded oil thread

Good evening everyone,
So my S1000xr uses oil!
Does anyone else use a little , Ive not done a proper
Mileage check but it seems to use a fair bit.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
Oh its done nearly 15k now and doesnt lack power/ smoke

Mine's on 6,000 miles and hasn't used any

Poor break in?
I am not unduly worried at the moment but plan on keeping it

Hey its a BMW absolutely anything is possible my 1100s used to guzzle oil till it got to the 20,000 mile mark,if ridden hard over a distance my K will use some this XR seems Ok,but if you in it for the long term just stick with it I'd be amazed if it didn't change and of course run it on 5/40 and not 10/40.

Yes I have always used5w40, currently on liquimoly
As a little cheaper than the beemer stuff, bike feels /seems Better when running hotter than with the other stuff , its winter though so lets see when. Summer comes, damn thing runs hotter than any other bike I have had!
