BMW Tyre Insurance - are they having a laugh?

Just received a quote for tyre insurance (unsolicited).
Period of insurance is two years within which time you can only claim a maximum of three times - but that could also cover just a repair which is covered for up to £50
What's the premium? £488!!!
Now I've yet to buy a tyre for an XR but I think somethings a bit squirly here!

Just as they have introduced maintenance plans
This will be the latest "feature' they can add to a PCP - to snag buyers, who want to spread the cost of everything over the 3yr period.
Bike clothing and helmets next.

YEP, It comes with all PCP deals, they include GAP insurance, Tyre Insurance, Paint and Dent Insurance,
It will soon be Insurance for Insurance. Only good side is you do not have to have it ( Although there is always a bit of scare mongering )
And as always NEVER buy from a dealer if you do want it....

Insurance for insurance - love it.
Great concept. Take it to Dragons Den! (Well Chain Monkey man did all right but he's got a good product!).

As mentioned above that's gap insurance. Another means of extracting money probably by the the same underwriters who should cough up in the first place.

Speaking from experiance ( My better Half used to work in Insurance ). They will try to have you over at every turn. So forget loyalty and go for price.
