Red Weather Warning

Just had a phone call from a mate saying that if you drive in an area that has a red weather warning check your insurance you may not be covered  :005:

Interesting !

That wouldn't surprise me in the least.  It needs something like this - to get through to some of the eejits!

I believe there was a case last year in Peebles where a woman ignored the flood warning signs and the car got stuck in the river.    Underwriters left her high and dry (so to speak :008:)

Similarly-  Travel insurance underwriters are refusing claims where: "Your judgement or abilities are impaired by drugs or alcohol". This has had profound effects on some holidaymakers who thought that climbing up to their room balcony while pissed - is a good idea  :063:

EDIT:  Did a google, and found this:
Insurance companies have stated that comprehensive insurance will cover any damage caused to a person's vehicle by the storm.

A spokesman for the AA told the Daily Record: "It's total nonsense to say you would not be covered during a red weather warning.

Saw two people on motorbikes yesterday, one a GS going up the M40, the other on a local road. Nutters I thought.

As there has been a bit of talk on insurance. Just another thing to check on your medical travel insurance cover. Read the small print because many of the large providers have a clause that you are not covered whilst riding a motorcycle. And they are not just talking about local hire bikes, but even your own bike whilst on tour.....   :211: :211: :005:

My mate picked up his new GS on Thursday from Gloucester BMW. Only a zombie apocalypse would have stopped him. He got back fine, although the road south of the M4 was interesting. Not something I’d have done, or many people for that matter.

Put my back out - clearing my neighbour's driveway on Friday.......   :190:

Just about back to normal so cleared the car and part of my own driveway today........... in time for more bloody snow!!!!     Lost 4 gutter supports already, so will need to buy a long ladder and new metal supports.

Getting thoroughly pee'd off with it now!  :172:

Bought a snow blower for next year.    :164:

When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather....not screaming like the passengers in his car..!
