Akrapovic carbon parts
« on: March 04, 2018, 11:10:31 PM »
Hi guys,

Has anyone ever had to order replacement carbon casings for the Akrapovic slip on end can before? I dropped my bike in the garage the other day  :005: but luckily it landed against a bench and didnt reach the floor. Unfortunatly the carbon part that hides the exhaust clamps hit the corner of the bench and with the whole weight of the bike resting on it it broke this part. Im struggling to find any replacement parts for Akrapovics, any suggestions?

cheers

Part number: 77118546526.

Available online, although most likely back ordered from BMW. Showing around the 240 euro mark.

@Andyb27 - I feel for you.  Years ago I dropped my ZZR1100 in the garage - it landed on my sister's FS1E.  Dented the ZZR's tank. £400 for new one - Ouch!

Thanks for the replies guys, spoke to an Akra supplier and looking at between £270 and £300 for a new part, and thats if they can even get it... think ill buy some epoxy resin and try to repair the broken one, worth a shot anyway!

@JTL feel for you man, bits of removable trim are certainly not as bad as tank damage!

Depending on how successful you are with a fix i’d Try talking to like of Zero Limits here in the UK and see what they can do.

If you manage to fix it but not as aesthetically pleasing as you'd like you could always get it wrapped in a carbon fibre type wrap, assuming of course it would stand up to the heat.
If your not going to thrash it leave it in the garage !!
