I bought the full Shad luggage set:
https://www.fastbikebits.com/product/3538/bmw-s1000xr-2015-complete-luggage-set/357458f6ffbe550a081c6881fc7005c4
Seems well made and I can testify that it is waterproof. I specified a larger top case and the inner bags. Cheaper than BMW kit.

I also used the SH36 bags from Shad. My logic:
1. Half the price of BMW
2. The mounts are clean and strong. Look less obtrusive when not using bags.
3.
FLAT BLACK
.
All panniers should be flat black
. The UN should really convene to discuss this. Bags should not be painted to match the bike. Boot strikes alone will destroy the paint. Not to mention car doors in parking lots.

I would find it very hard to get my stuff inside a flat pannier, even if it was Black. And why should we not mention car doors in a car park.

I’ll be the dissenting voice. Get the stock bags work great look great color matched paint is awesome an durable. Hey if the bikes paint holds up why would putting the same paint on the bags be any different. Why put up with delayed shipments and missing parts from shad for bags that to me don’t look as good on the bike.

I think the OEM Panniers are probably the only ones which will hold a helmet?
The alternative would be to get a huge Givi topbox which would take both helmets.
