Clutch Cable - Occasional Twang
« on: April 16, 2018, 01:46:15 PM »
Just picked up my XR, and every now and then the clutch gives a sort of "twang" as if it re-seats its self, if that makes any sense  :084:. All works fine, no problems or anything, but just seems a bit strange?

Totally normal. Not to worry.

Yep...normal, it's just the "slipper clutch" mechanism doing it's thing. Usually happens only on the down-change.

Yep mine does that too. Got to agree it feels a bit odd in a not right sort of way but I soon learn't to ignore it

To be fair I only use the clutch to pull off and first to second and stopping, the few times when I've hopped off the Ducati monster and muscle memory\ forgot yep it feels very strange to feel the clutch leaver kecking back.
After over thirty years behind the bars, I’ve still not done it all or seen it all.

OK then, it just feels like the clutch cable twanging and reseating itself. Guess I will get used to it.

Mine exhibits the occasional ‘click’ - but seems to come from the cable rather than the clutch itself?
