T30r's total garbage? Or is it just me?
« on: April 21, 2018, 08:59:13 AM »
Hi folks.. My old 2015 xr came with rosso 2's which I loved,  it was a sport model without the electronic suspension and the bike handled like it was on rails.  Now I've just been out on my new 2018 s.e with esa and also came with battlax T30r's and the bike is nowhere near as good in corners.. It doesn't want to lean.  I had the chicken strips scrubbed off on both sides on my old xr, now I'm struggling with this one, same roads etc.. Could the tyres be making that much difference?

The T30s get a reasonable name, and for most road riding - the current sports-tourers are probably more suited than pure-sports?

Should heat up better too?

If you are happy with the squaring off of pure-sports tyres and reduced mileage - then whip off the T30s and throw on a set of your fav tyres.

I'm thinking that's what I'm going to do.. Fire a set if rosso 2's as a direct comparison to my old xr and make sure it is the tyres..  I suppose I'm best to wait u til the bike is run in and try again with full power too, this is sometbing ve overlooked..  Watch this space

Ive put 200 mile on them so they are well scrubbed in, and I'm being enthusiastic with it in the corners but it just doesn't seem to want to go over.  They don't seem to roll aswell and I can feel the back end twitching.  The old bike on the rosso 2's went round corners like you wouldn't believe.. I just wanted to ask to make sure it's not just in my head

The T30's are more of a touring tyre...nowhere near as sticky as the Rosso-II's, don't last as long either...the Rosso-III's are out now so maybe they're an option.??

I did two track days on my T30's and TBH, they weren't half bad considering how hard they are.
