Finished ferckling - for a bit anyway!
« on: April 21, 2018, 09:51:13 AM »
Apart from still mithering whether or not to bother with the bar weights I bought, I've now got to a point where I'm happy with the appearance of the bike having finally got round to fitting the mirrors I bought from Vengence back in February and the Puig Touring Screen from Wayne. The mini heatwave also allowed me to put on the wheel decals which need to be applied in the warm.

Oh yes, and I've finally got around to trying out the "Dynamic" Mode - and I'm never going back to "Road" again - Yeehah!!!  :046:

Aye thank you. I've heard that the red ones are quicker!   :018:

Not only quicker, but more power and a lighter front end as the wheel never touches the tarmac.  :001: :001:

It’s just sad that we red riders had to barter 10 points of our IQ to BMW for approval from Bavaria to ride the quicker color.

I’m faster, but I can’t figure out the gas cap now.  :084:

The faerkeles/farkles/mods look wonderful!

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with those mirrors?
I had to return the pair I fitted as they vibrated big time and pointless over 5000rpm!!

Very nice Martyn.
Those mirrors look like they can take on the apocalypse. Vengence you say? Never heard.

Ah, that needs some clarification - the mirrors are by Magazi. I bought them from an XR Forum Member who's handle is Vengence  :028:

...and to answer Spicerlife, I only rode it for the first time with the mirrors on Friday and yes, they were useless in the upper rev range but I would say it was more like 7k>.  My first thoughts are to fit the bar ends that I've not yet bothered with and see if that makes a difference. If not I could try putting some rubber washers on. However, when I'm travelling at those speeds, I adopt the "1st rule of Italian Moto-riding" which is of course "What is behind me is of no concern..."

That is unless it has blue flashing lights - and by that time it's too late!  :164:

(Actually, after watching the MotoGP Qualifying from Texas yesterday, perhaps that should be the 1st rule of Spanish Moto-riding, especially if your name is Marc Maquez!)
