Paintwork / Tape/ protection
« on: August 16, 2015, 10:45:30 PM »
I`m after a bit of advice please. I`m off to Spain on the XR in 10 days and I test fitted my soft luggage today. There is the possibility that the securing straps will rub on the tail piece so I am after some cleat tape type protection that I can put on for the trip and them remove without taking the paint off too...ant ideas / recommendations?

I would put 3M clear protective sheeting on the area where the bags or straps may rub.  You can leave it on as it is clear plastic like they use on cars.

Yep, this is the stuff I use on the vulnerable areas. OP, Google "3M Ventureshield" and you'll find he stuff you need.
