Hello Everyone!
I own dirt bikes and quads, but after 35 years of not owning a street bike I recently purchased a new 2017 S1000XR and am having lots of fun with it. I just installed a new Vario windscreen on it and it has improved the riding experience immensely. I live in a mountainous area of British Columbia with lots of twisty roads and little traffic, which is perfect for the XR.
Looking forward to being part of the forum...

I'm dating myself as I used to ride on the street until I was 20 or so. Started with a Honda 175 2 cylinder, then a Honda 350, finishing with a sweet black 1977 Honda CB 750F SuperSport before my brother totalled it in the early 1980's.
Street bikes have come a long way since then. I recall the Honda 750's frame twisting as I leaned into the corner with a passenger and hitting a few small bumps. I rode my brother's CBR a few years ago and was amazed at how smooth it was and how rigid the frame was. Got me thinking about getting a new bike, plus a few guys at work started riding . Did some internet research and picked the XR. Didn't even test ride it, just bought it...
