Can’t walk properly after track day
« on: May 23, 2018, 05:35:03 PM »
Last week I overdid it on a track day and my legs have seized up. I can barely walk and going down steps is almost impossible. Any advice on how to free up thigh muscles that have turned to rock? It’s getting uncomfortable joking apart. Have tried all sorts of stretching exercises but nothing works. HELP.

Sounds like you need a long soak in hot bath and some sports massage.

A trip to Thailand should take care of that...  :008:

yep more gym work before you go :745:
too late for you but, every track day I've ever done I'll have a quick run round the pit's first before each session as a warm up
as for now try and do some very gentle exercise like static bike, swimming or cross trainer or a good walk it'll get the lactate acid moving in muscles, once your warmed up do some stretching Yoga or Tai Chi is a good way to go.
In short keep moving the worst thing you can do is just sit still!
After over thirty years behind the bars, I’ve still not done it all or seen it all.

If you are BUPA - you might qualify for a rub-down by a hot nurse.  :169:

Some supplements should help... BCAA aka amino acids should help muscle recovery also with some nice soaking
