Tyres

Just about to change tyres from original set. Any recommendations ? Probably more performance orientated than touring longevity.
Cheers

Topic moved - a "Tyres" topic probably needs to be in the "Tyres" board   :164:

Many many threads and posts on the subject.

It might be conversational, but really - all the info/opinions are there :431:

Continental Road Attack 3 are the best sports / touring tyre in my experience - great grip and even better mileage - 6k miles and still loads of tread left  :305:

Did you ever try the Metzeler Roadtec 01?
They have been the best sport touring tyres I’ve tried (not talking about mileage as I actually didn’t run them till the end as I eventually traded the bike)

What type of rider are you if I may ask? Only asking because of the +6000 miles on a set of tyres, for example, I commute in the city about 80/90% of the tyre lifespan so I know that may reduce as much as 30% if it’s use if I were to only tour with them.

Yes I have had Metz RT 01 before and yes they were good. Just returned from a Pyrenees tour but normal riding is a day out in Wales. Normal life I have had from ST tyres is about 5k so the RA3 is much a much longer life. I dont like the Bridge T30's fitted by BMW  :305:

Well, 2745 miles to alps and back on the Metzler 01s! WOW absolutely awesome!!!!!! Great grip! Clearly going to do some mileage also! Great in the wet also!!!! Very happy!  :305:
