Metzeler Sportec M7 RR, anyone using these yet ?
« on: May 27, 2018, 07:11:01 PM »
Hi Guys

I need to replace my pirelli rosso II tyres now as after 3500 miles on my new XR they are gone &  are squared off (the bike was an ex demo bike so i think these tyres had a hard life just doing sh#t loads of short test rides) so i am going to replace both tyres now with fresh rubber.

has anyone had or using the METZELER SPORTEC M7 RR , i am really looking closely at pulling the trigger on a set of these now,

let me know guys

cheers

Never tried those on, but from experience and from what I’ve seen here in the forum the Metzeler RoadTec 01 are a great all round tyre that go perfect with this type of bike.

Not used them on my
Xr but had them on my s1000r, good tyre wet and dry lasted 3k front a bit longer, on Metz 01s on xr just fitted my 2nd rear first one lasted 4.5k  but that was just about to canvas need to fit new front now about 5.5 to 6k it's lasted happy with them wet and dry, but will probably try something different next as I like to try something different now and again.

Yeah although the M7 look awesome I think that I would still stick with the 01’s maybe due to mileage   :430:

Yeah I agree 50% better mileage and loads of grip wet and dry.

I've used em on my other bikes and it's a great tire. Little longer life than a sticky race tire but not as good as a sport touring tire. Handles great.
