Evotech Performance Crash Bobbins
« on: June 02, 2018, 04:32:19 PM »
Fitted a set of these to my XR last year. So glad that I did. Had a massive rear wheel slide on a roundabout 10 days ago resulting in a high-side ejection from the bike. Bike slid on left side about 15m. These bobbins saved the casings from even a scratch. Hate to think what damage may have been caused . Damage to plastics will be costly enough. I'd recommend these are fitted. PS Make sure your new rear tyre is run-in. Road was dry and no sign of diesel. Schoolboy error, I know.

Have the same bobbins on mine. Haven't "tested" them yet. Not as obtrusive as a set of crash bars, so they look better, in my oppinion. Glad they worked great for you.

Cheers, only mod I need to add now are a set of stabilisers!! Just want to get back on the bike but looks like it will be a few more weeks for injuries to heal. I agree the bungs look far better than the engine bars. Gonna get on to Evotech to see if they will sell individual bung for left side only. Worth a try.

Hmmmm.

I just went to Evotech's website and all of their S1000XR accessories are grayed out; unable to be purchased.

Conspiracy?  :155:

Just confirming that Evotech are able to supply me with just the parts I need for left Bung and Bar end that were damaged, at a reasonable price compared to original sets too. Thanks to Garry in sales for organising.
I don't work for them, just think their kit looks great on the bike and I can testify they protect the most expensive parts of your bike. I'm adding the rear axle bobbins too. The threaded end of my axle was ground out and the bobbins are about half the price of a new axle should I ever do the crash test again. Nah, maybe not. Ride safe out there. Cheers all.

I needed just the one side of a bar end for another bike in the past, they supplied just the part I needed. Seem like a good company.
