« on: June 17, 2018, 08:07:10 PM »
Bmw s1000xr se
I stopped to refuel and turned the key to off and it kept running with full lights ..
Hit the kill switch then refueled and rode 5 miles to home..
Parked up turned off ignition and the sàme thing happened  it kept running   so seat removed I pulled the 30amp fuse and now it's off..
Any help or ideas would be great
Thanks in advance

If it's still in warranty I'd be getting it repaired under warranty....if not it's probably a duff ignition switch.

I had exactly the same thing with about 2K(miles) on the clock, on my first Euro trip on it.

Be aware that if you kill it with the stop switch it can be started again without  the key unless you remove the battery power to it.

My barrel and keys were replaced under warranty and its been fine ever since. Now got about 14.5K(miles) on it.

It happens to RR's as well as I was on the boat back and a guy on an RR said he had had the same problem. So its a know fault !!!
