« on: July 01, 2018, 10:33:39 PM »
Got myself booked in tomorrow morning for a test ride on a ktm super adventure s when im there I will see if they have and demo superduke gt too, wasn't really thinking to change the xr but will see after tomorrow I guess and depending what mine is worth as a part ex. Just wandering are my legs long enough  :008: my xr is low model but I use standard seat.

The GT has a saddle about the same height as the standard XR but the saddle is narrower and the pegs are further back and so don't get in the way of putting your feet down ... so I found it a lot better than the XR (which is why I lowered mine).

I shall be interested in your view of the GT ...

Love the "S" but if you are vertically challenged then I can see you giving it a miss, the GT might be a better propostion for you  :038:

Well i’ve Had my mates GT since last Wednesday and i’m Viewing it as an ‘As well as’ not an ‘Instead of’ but i’m A long way from getting my head around it so best of luck with a one off test ride which frankly is a minor detail compared to ‘How good the dealer is’ and how much you end up paying because certainly with GT prices they are in complete turmoil with KTM dumping so many on the market last December.

took out the super adventure s, no denying its got a stonking engine but it just didnt feel the bike for me felt like sat right on top of it. didnt find the quick shifter and blipper as smooth as my xr either. didnt have time to try a gt but will next week hopefully did sit on one and that felt pretty good. dealer let me out for hour and a half which was ok, i wasnt really looking to change but now i got itchy feet  :001:

Today took out the sdgt wow what piece of kit, it had the heated ergo seats but could just about flat foot it. Riding position you feel sat on top of it compared to the xr position of in it. But that motor is insane nice smooth shifts up the box but no auto blipper for downshifts.couple of niggles the cruise control switches on same side as throttle makes setting it tricky, the side stand is hard to find and compared to the xr hardly seems to lean over, and the fuel countdown is nowhere near as good as the xr. Would those put me off buying one, no dont think it would, the gearing is high cant use 6th at legal motorway speeds no chance of riding it lazy like you can an xr pulling in top from bugger all revs. decisions to be made I guess, been offered a good price on mine part ex against a 7 month old bike with 150 miles.the futures bright the futures orange, maybe

Yup just about sums it up including the fuel countdown got this one down to two ticks stopped for fuel and only got 10liters in.

I’m in a different situation with more than one bike and having a GT as an only bike? Phewww i’d Liken it to getting involved with a porn star good fun while things are going good but jeez it could all in end in tears financial or otherwise  :001:

Just remember that bike you looked at sold last December for £10,900

Wow £10900, cant find a second hand for that but then it doesnt mater what prices were, can only pay what they are valued at the current time.
