Trip 2 resetting????
« on: July 08, 2018, 11:37:01 AM »
So I’m on the tunnel on way back from an awesome trip to EU etc, I have been using trip 1 for daily mileage and was wanting trip 2 to clock up the total.
But I have noticed trip 2 resetting with no input from me at all!!!
Any ideas anyone?
It appears random, not liked to fuel fill ups, resetting trip 1, very strange!

I use my odometers the same way as you, but have never had a spontaneous reset like yours.

At 1000 miles it resets to zero automatically

This is new information to me.

I've noticed that my odometer readings in my Nav V slave to the resets I perform on the dash odometer.  I wonder if that, too, will flip to 0.

This caught me out last year on a Spanish/French trip. I was hoping to get a big mileage to show off, but the bloddy thing reset at 1000. Pants !!

I do not understand the logic behind this feature.

Me thinks the trip meter is just a 3 digit display, so the most it will show is 999 miles, then the 1000 becomes a hidden 1'1' and 0 miles!

Correct. They assume you won't want to record mileages over 1000 miles

Guys, it is the same with kilometers ;)
Have also fallen for this "issue" while on longer tour.

Can understand the 1000 thing but mine was at 90 odd then next time I looked an hour or two later it was around 30
She’s going in to bmw for an engine noise so I will ask them, other people had clock / dash issues?
