Fitting Akropovic Headers
on:
July 14, 2018, 11:05:40 PM
I bought the Akropovic headers over 6 months ago, but thanks to fracturing my scaphoid in February, not finding out until 8 weeks later (I thought it was sprained) and going through the plaster cast process and physio, I have not been fit enough to do the job, until now.
I took my time, I had all day, I rested because of the heat plenty of times, but got the job done. The test ride will be tomorrow.
The Akropovic instructions were very good, but the other useful aid was this video on YouTube made by GPR. For removing the headers it was very useful indeed:-

I will test ride it today when I have finished cleaning the bike and then see how it feels. I plan to get it dynoed and see what the fuelling is like.

Thanks, I just took my time and didn't rush it, I had all weekend if necessary. I took the bike out for a spin this evening and it is certainly noisier, but not on part throttle so cruising should be fine. The pops, bangs and crackles on down changes are rather delicious and it is running nice and smoothly.

Wait for a secondhand PC to turn up on eBay chances are it’ll have a half decent map in it already so a custom dyno run will be very easy, and if you can fit headers fitting a PC is Doddle just look at Cuban’s vid for taking the body work off there is still a lot more to be had out of the bike with a decent map and no lambas.
