Wunderlich helmet lock
« on: July 20, 2018, 12:33:49 PM »
Hiya,

Just tried to fit the wunderlich helmet lock to the bike (the one with the cables that bolt underneath the seat) and am having problems.   :034:

Has anyone fitted one of these with a bike that has the OEM BMW alarm fitted?

It looks to me that that is in the way?  I looked on the Wunderlich site and I don't think the bike they used had the alarm.

I've mailed them and Nippy Normans for a response.....

Cheers,

Lee.

Nah cannot help you with this one. But I will say that I am not over the moon with Wunderlich. I bought the sat-nav lock, but it only works after reworking it. Not good enough, and Nippy Normans, were not much help either....

Yeah, I wasn't that impressed with the Nav lock. It's not great...  :006:

Wunderlich= shite communication and customer service!  :182:

Nippy's got back to me and Wunderlich haven't replied to them either.
As they have had another owner with the alarm say the same thing, it's going back for a refund.  :021:

So it looks like if you have an alarm, don't bother buying one of these.......

I always use a cycle type cable lock. through the chin bar and onto a none removable part of the bike. Can even secure your jacket through the sleeve if its a hot day. Just remember to empty your pockets  :001:

Thanks Ned, that's pretty much what I do now, the Wunderlich just saved remembering to carry the lock and when I'm not using the luggage, it's something else to have to stow somewhere  :034:

Back to the cable lock I suppose.....

Here’s my solution, always under the seat ready to secure my helmet.

I have a longer, thicker cable that I pack if I want to secure my leathers, but I lock that to the bike with my Oxford boss disk lock.

Been using one of these for the past few years...
Fits in a pocket and serves a purpose...  :028:
