With a small discount from the dealer I can purchase the OE filters cheaper than the K&N retail price. Stay OE or maybe HiFlo, that's my opinion and I'm sure there will be many others shortly.

I am sure you guys over the pond can buy the Mahle filters. They are the OEM supplier for BMW filters. Much cheaper.

I bought a bike-time supply of Mahle (OEM) air filters and oil filters from Rock Auto. Great prices :)

OC619 would be the same as our BMW 11427721779, I believe.

Now... if I could just figure out who puts the 5w40 into the BMW bottles....

It's Shell Advance I believe.....and as mentioned, Mahle make the genuine filters.

I use the Hi-flo 160 too, much cheaper than the BMW labelled items, Carpimoto sells them, I buy them 5 at a time from Italy, well worth the effort and heaps cheaper than I can buy them over the counter here in Sydney, and that includes shipping.

Yeah I normally go HiFlo too, but for the BMW I bought all the stuff for the 18K service from the dealer, but did it myself. At least I still have some paper trail.
