Back in Black!
« on: August 30, 2018, 01:02:07 AM »
So, even as I was buying the Resident Evil XR I knew she wan't going to stay red. I dabbled with wrapping, but all these complex curves and small panels make it really difficult to make a decent job. I ended up getting all the red fairings painted BMW Black Storm Metallic. It has been a slow process, which started before the announcement of the Triple Black. I have also installed the full (black) Akra system, and added some colour accents(May add a little more on the lower panels. I wrapped the black ABS plastic panels with CF vinyl., added the OEM grab bars.

Still a few more items to add, but will post as they are completed

WOW, Awesome!!! To my eyes/ personal taste, this is one of the best looking XR's I've seen. Also, it looks both O.E.M and custom (could be mistaken for a "special edition XR"), which is hard to achieve and get right.

Job well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks awesome, I love a bit of individuality  :047:

Nice work on the wrapping too, I’m going to have a play over the winter wrapping with some matte metallic gun metal grey as I think it will compliment the blue, not sure how much of the black ABS will go grey, so great to see what you’ve achieved  :028: :020:

Thanks for the compliments. With regard to the wrap, the CF looks good from a distance, but up close I would give it a 5/10. Especially the 'Badge Carrier' is a real b!tch with all the angles and compound/convex curves.

Yep powder coated. also getting the upper triple tree and bar clamps powder coated. I figured if I am going to do it it needs to be 'All In'!! (well, there may still be a few parts left silver)
