Cut out
« on: August 30, 2018, 12:10:35 PM »
Just been for a fairly enthusiastic spin out .... about an hour of back roads and twisters. About ten mins from home, stationary at lights, the bike just cut out. Restarted after a second or so, then did the same at the next set of lights ..... behaved faultlessly on the trip out. Is this a known issue with the 2015 bikes ?

Not heard of that one on the Xr. But my Z1000sx when I had it, would occasionally do the same. Never a problem but strange all the same.

There’s was a post on the other site some time back a guy in the US said similar if my bad memory serves me right it was either connector to the tank or the fuel pump which the odd early one suffered with.

I just collected my 2017 XR from Dealers following its first annual service, returning home on the motorway my XR lost all throttle power, noted the word Engine on my LCD Screen & a warning light came on, don’t ask which one as I was concentrating & trying to blip throttle etc, fortunately I coasted to hard shoulder, stopped, switched off & on, fault cleared & performed flawlessly the rest of the journey. First time this has happened in 6,000 miles, it was alarming, but thankful I wasn’t on the twisties!!!

Has this happened to anyone else or am I special ?
