Scotland Trip
« on: September 06, 2018, 06:40:42 PM »
Did a 1300 mile trip last weekend (Thursday to Sunday). Stayed in Inverness for 3 nights and had various ride outs each day as far north as Tongue and Durness and as far west as Skye. Didn't take many pics as I go every year with the same group. Here are what I took. Just hope I don't get any letters through the post as I had the XR flat out several times

Yes it was. Thursday started well but had rain for about 40 minutes in the Glasgow area. Friday was stunning. Saturday had that mist / rain that just hung in the air for most of the day. Sunday started really well but as soon as we go in to the Cairngorms it started to rain and didn't stop until we got to the English border. Still a great trip and we will be going back again next year as it is a yearly pilgrimage for us.

We did a Scotland trip 10 years ago, was beautiful up there, great roads, quiet, etc. We were lucky to have only 2 crappy days weather wise and not much of an issue with the midges!

Ah yes, I have been there on the bike once. Never went to the beach though, looks like I missed out. Ullapool is about the furthest North I go now.

I go with a group every Easter and then again at the end of August / Early Sept. Had more good weather than bad and there are some great roads to be found. Looking forward to next years trips already

Looking on the web there is a great website called Motorcycle Scotland that gives loads of information and also downloadable routes in Garmin or Tom format.  :305:
