Question re panniers

Can any one tell me if the genuine Bmw panniers for s1000xr if the painted part is detachable from main part of panniers as I want to get them painted a different colour

I dont believe that they are detachable. But there are threads on here, where others have had them sprayed. Maybe you could get them wrapped. Then you could put them back to stock when you sell the bike.

They are going on new hp colour s1000xr so wrapping not really visible
Was just trying to make things easier for my local spray painter

Unfortunately not as I looked into this as found a cheap set up for sale but surface soiled & with deep abrasions. I’m confused to why they didn’t make it as a replaceable part for these reasons alone as I’m sure there added onto the box on the assembly line so would of been readily available.. real shame imo.
