BMW Vario Top Case
« on: September 28, 2018, 06:26:49 PM »
This was on my XR when I got it. I think it was intended for a GS or similar but it fits the XR rack OK. It expands from 25 to 35 litres and is in excellent condition. It will need a new lock barrel as it's coded to my bike's ignition key at the moment.
It weighs a fair bit so collection from my place would be best I guess.
It looks like this    https://www.bmw-motorrad-bohling.com/uk/bmw-vario-topcase-set-r1200gs-k50-2013-2018.html   (but without the mounting plate).
Offers around £175?
Thanks

It is a simple process to re-code the lock to the buyer’s key.

There are 6? Wafers of which 3 matching will suffice.   But it is easy to buy the correct wafers

Remove the lock barrel prior to sale, and bung it in a bag inside the box.   There is a YouTube vid for removal of the barrel and also how to re-code the lock.

Yep.
I've taken the lock out so it's ready to go.

Cool.  I’ve just purchased a top case, however......... I’m not sure that it’ll fit the bike or look quite right when fitted.
My fault, somehow I was watching the wrong item on a well know auction site!!!
Should my suspicions be correct it’ll be going back up for sale.  I should know after the weekend and I’ll drop you line to see if it’s still available.
Cheers

Okey dokey. If you don't have it I'll put it on eBay....

Please note you'l need the black plastic BMW rack adaptor plate, though lots of bikes seem to have them anyway. Only about £18 from Motorrad Store if you don't have one. I put a link on this thread earlier.
